Baha Mar is one of the world’s premier holiday destinations. The, 1000-acre, $4.2 billion luxury resort consists of three globally renown hotel brands: SLS, Grand Hyatt and Rosewood. It also includes the Caribbean’s largest casino, a rooftop bar and multiple pool experiences.

Structure
Services: Structural Engineer of Record, Structural Engineering Design, Construction Quality Control
IBS collaborated with lead structural engineering design firm, Thornton Tomasetti, early in the design process to prepare the structural designs for the hotel component of the resort. IBS provided supplemental designs for project components not handled by Tomasetti including the Central Utility Plant structure, SLS Pool mezzanine, and others. Our team also assisted with permitting and governmental approval for the structural designs and provided construction quality control services throughout the construction of the hotels and the casino.
Baha Mar Hotel Site Infrastructure, Lakes, and Pool Experience

IBS collaborated with the client’s design team to provide engineer of record services and supplemental designs for the site’s pool and lake network. We also provided a full inspection team to provide construction quality control inspections for the duration of the site infrastructure installation process.
Rosewood Hotel Pool Bar and Restaurant

IBS collaborated with the client’s design team to provide engineer of record services and supplemental designs for the exclusive Rosewood in-pool bar and accompanying restaurant. We provided a full inspection team to conduct construction quality control inspections throughout the building process.
SLS Sky Bar at Baha Mar

IBS partnered with the client’s design team, delivering engineer of record services and supplemental designs for the Sky Bar at the SLS hotel. Our team also provided key structural advice and performed construction quality control inspections during the construction of the works.
The Pointe
Location: New Providence, Bahamas

The Pointe is an upscale high-rise hotel and condo resort offering private resident access to a marina and high-end amenities as well as public access to its many commercial and nightlife spaces. Our team resolved the challenges presented by traffic management and infrastructure installation in a highly urbanized and congested area. IBS performed civil infrastructure designs, permitting of the design package, and construction quality control for the installation of the infrastructure.
Sandals Emerald Bay Resort
Location: Great Exuma, Bahamas

IBS performed services for the new commercial and marina support components of the acclaimed all-inclusive resort. Our team collaborated with CCL to prepare the civil infrastructure designs during the design stage of the project. IBS handled permitting and governmental approval for all civil designs and provided construction quality control services throughout the installation of the works.
The Dunmore Beach Hotel

IBS civil infrastructure designs for this boutique hotel included paving, grading and drainage, sanitary sewer, water distribution, power distribution, and telecommunications systems. We also provided construction quality control services throughout the installation of the works.
Superclubs Breezes

Superclubs Breezes, a popular regional all-inclusive resort, engaged IBS for engineering consulting services when its roof was badly damaged after a major hurricane. Our team provided a structural assessment of the damage, prepared designs to completely replace the existing roof and provided construction quality control inspections during the construction of the new roof.
Cottages at Cape Eleuthera Resort & Marina

The construction of this upmarket townhouse and marina resort community revitalized the economy of a small town on the southern tip of the island of Eleuthera. IBS designed the community’s utility complex including reverse osmosis water production, a wastewater treatment plant, a utility building and utility site civil designs. Our team also provided construction quality control services throughout the installation of the works.
Princess Cays

Princess Cruise Lines, a major player in the cruise ship industry, engaged IBS as part of a major initiative to incorporate more environmentally friendly practices in the company’s stopover destination on Princess Cays in The Bahamas.
IBS civil infrastructure design services included revamping the old sewer system and providing an updated design solution using localized, state-of-the-art, extended aeration treatment systems at various locations throughout the cays.
